The organization

Behind the Museum and Heritage Line there are three organisations.

The Stichting Beheer Collectie Amsterdams Vervoer Museum (SBCAVM, Management of the Amsterdam Transport Museum Collection Foundation) is the owner of the collection and stock of historical trams.

The second organization is the Electrische Museumtramlijn Amsterdam (EMA, Electrical Museumtramline Amsterdam). This Foundation owns and manages the railway line as well as operates both the City Tours as well as the Heritage Line. The EMA Foundation is a member of the HRN (Historisch Railvervoer Nederland / Historic Railtransportation Netherlands), the nationwide umbrella organisation that represents the interests of Dutch rail museums. The museum tram line falls under the Special Railways Decree.

And finally we have the Rijdend Electrisch Tram Museum (RETM, Running Electrical Tram Museum association). All our volunteers are members of the association. This association also forms the base for our donors, friends and other benefactors. By becoming a member you will also receive our magazine “Trams van Toen” (Trams from the Past).

ANBI Status

All 3 organisations EMA, RETM and SBCAVM are recognised as Cultural non-profit organisations (ANBI’s). Which means that donations and gifts to these organizations count toward your tax deductibles in the Netherlands.
